Morrison's pouch

(James R. Morrison. 1853 - 1939, British surgeon), recess of the peritoneal cavity which lies between the liver in front and the kidney and adrenal behind. In the supine position it can fill with peritoneal fluid. Collections in this pouch may occur in any intraperitoneal sepsis and are typically associated with gallbladder disease.
