Melas syndrome

Mitochondrial myopathy, Encephalopathy, Lactic Acidosis and Stroke-like attacks. Clinically, there is encephalopathy. Radiologically, multifocal hyperintensity is seen on the T2-weighted images in the cerebral cortex and cerebellum adjacent to the white matter with transient ischaemic areas corresponding to regions affected by the stroke-like attacks.
