Hyperoxaluria

a condition with increased level of oxalate in the urine. The commonest causes of this condition are heredity or increased absorption of oxalate from the bowel. The hereditary form is usually an autosomal recessive condition. Symptoms include haematuria and renal colic secondary to calculus formation. Imaging by ultrasound of the kidneys demonstrates the calculi or nephrocalcinosis. Radiography will show calculi within the urinary tract. See calcification renal
