Gigantism

accelerated skeletal growth with clinical presentation of a large statured child. This is the manifestation of a craniopharyngioma, the paediatric counterpart to acromegaly. Radiologically there is evidence of a sellar tumour on MRI or CT, a normal or retarded bone age in spite of accelerated growth, and sometimes osteopenia. Differential diagnosis include Sotos syndrome.
