Paediatric ImagingForeign body, nose
Insertion of small foreign bodies such as seeds, beans, plastic (toy parts) or metal objects into the nostrils is fairly common among young children. Purulent rhinitis, sinusitis, adenoiditis or otitis media may develop. If the object remains undetected it may cause
occult chronic infection.
Radiological imaging is seldom required but CT may be required to identify complications and a nonradiopaque foreign body.
