Brown tumour

cystic lesions seen within the bones, which are a manifestation of hyperparathyroidism, mainly primary but also sometimes seen in secondary disease. The tumours often accompany osteitis fibrosa cystica. The lesions are due to accumulation of fibrous tissue and giant cells. See hyperparathyroidism primary, hyperparathyroidism secondary
