Allergic enteropathy

allergy to food which may lead to symptoms of malabsorption. Cow's milk allergy is the most frequent cause. Children present with pain, diarrhoea, which may be bloody, protein losing enteropathy and often eczema. The diagnosis is clinical and by biopsy. Contrast studies are usually normal.
