Rheumatoid arthritis, temporomandibular joint

inflammatory synovial proliferation with secondary bony erosions. For a detailed description of the disease, see rheumatoid arthritis. In patients with rheumatoid arthritis, the temporomandibular joint is commonly involved. CT is a good technique for evaluation of the bony changes (Fig.1); MRI allows evaluation of the joint soft tissue alterations.
