rare osteosclerotic dysplasia of bone. For a more detailed description, see Camurati Engelmann disease. The skull and skull base are commonly affected in severe cases. CT reveals thickening and sclerosis of the bony skull base, causing narrowing of foramina and of the middle ear cavity.
