Paralaryngeal space

name given by some authors to the deep tissue space between the mucosa and the supporting skeleton of the larynx; it largely contains adipose tissue. The paralaryngeal space can be divided into the pre epiglottic space and paired paraglottic space. These deep spaces are important as they allow submucosal (occult) spread of disease through the larynx.
