Head and Neck ImagingMobius' syndrome
(Paul Julius Mobius, 1853 - 1907, German neurologist), congenital bilateral facial paralysis, due to total or partial absence of the facial nerve. Patients also have palsy of the abducens nerves and may have additional cranial nerve abnormalities. Various ear abnormalities may be present, such as deformation of the auricle and malformations of the inner ear. The abnormalities may be unilateral. The syndrome is known to be associated with a variety of other developmental somatic defects.
