Head and Neck ImagingKikuchi's disease
subacute histiocytic necrotizing lymphadenitis. A usually spontaneously resolving disease in patients presenting with cervical adenopathy and fever; women are affected more frequently than men. This disease is believed to be an autoimmune disorder; the patients are at risk of developing systemic lupus erythematosus. The CT and MRI appearance of Kikuchi's disease is variable. It may mimic other diseases, such as lymphoma and various nodal diseases with nodal necrosis, including metastasis and tuberculosis. Many small clustered enhancing lymph nodes may also be seen.
