Keratocyst

odontogenic keratocyst that develops from the dental lamina, and is characterized by a high recurrence rate after removal. Radiographically, it frequently mimics one of the other odontogenic cysts. These cysts may show undulating borders and an appearance suggesting multilocularity. They usually grow in an anteroposterior direction and often preserve the cortical margins, but may spread into the surrounding soft tissues (Fig.1). When multiple odontogenic keratocysts are seen, basal cell naevus syndrome is present in half of the cases.
