Head and Neck ImagingGardner's syndrome
(Eldon J. Gardner, 20th century, American physician), the development of multiple tumours, inherited as a dominant trait, including osteomas, multiple colon polyposis, epidermoid and sebaceous cysts, and desmoid tumours before 10 years of age. The osteomas have a predilection for the mandible and maxilla (Fig.1), but can develop anywhere on the skull and may also be found at other skeletal sites. The osteomas often precede the onset of colonic polyps. These colonic polyps have a high chance of becoming malignant. Also, see Gardners syndrome.
