Frontal recess

narrow communication between the frontal sinus and the anterior ethmoid complex or middle nasal meatus, through which the frontal sinus drains into the nose (see ostiomeatal unit (VI:2), Fig. 2). Nasofrontal duct is not a correct term, as no true tubular connection between the frontal sinus and the nose exists; the frontal recess may take the appearance of a duct when narrowed by the ethmoid bulla or a pneumatized agger nasi cell.
