Ethmoid infundibulum

cleft bordered medially by the uncinate process, laterally by the lamina papyracea, and superiorly by the ethmoid bulla, connecting the maxillary sinus with the middle nasal meatus. The ethmoid infundibulum may become narrowed by anatomical variations, predisposing the patient to inflammatory pathology in this region. See also sinonasal cavities anatomical variations.

The terms maxillary infundibulum and frontal infundibulum are sometimes also used, and indicate the narrowing of the maxillary and frontal sinus lumen towards their ostium; these terms are not synonymous with the ethmoid infundibulum and frontal recess.
