Head and Neck ImagingDelphian node
(named after Delphi, site of a sanctuary and oracle of Apollo in ancient Greece, because of the predictive nature of the node), lymph node just anterior to the cricothyroid membrane. Lymphatic extension to this node from a cancer at the anterior commissure or in the subglottis is occasionally seen. Tissue thickening at this level, as seen on CT or MRI, may also be due to direct tumour extension or to reactive inflammation around the tumour itself.
