Bichat's fat pad

(Marie F.X. Bichat, 1771 - 1802, French anatomist), (also called buccal fat pad and Bichat's fat ball). It is a fat pad involving the entire hemiface. It stretches from the temporal region to the cheek, passing through the zygomaticomalar tunnel and the pterygomandibular fossa. It is completely enclosed by a partitioned capsule.
