Head and Neck ImagingAngiosarcoma
rare
malignant tumour arising from the
endothelial cells of almost any organ, including the skin. The scalp is a common site of origin. This
tumour is also called haemangiosarcoma. Angiosarcomas are rapidly growing neoplasms and tend to grow deeply into adjacent soft tissues, invading bone and
cartilage. The prognosis is poor. On
CT and
MRI these tumours appear as aggressive, well-enhancing mass lesions.
Kaposis sarcoma is a variant of angiosarcoma.
