stroke). Arteritis should be suspected and systemic disease should be looked for when
stroke occcurs in young adults.
Other causes of stroke in young adults are disssections, drug abuse and collagen vascular disease.
Such arteritis is a heterogeneous group of vessel wall disease that should be included in the broader field of vasculitis intracranial.
It can be infectious and noninfectious, primary or secondary.
