Paracollicular arachnoid cyst

cyst originating from the quadrigeminal plate cistern and ambient cisterns. It may be small and asymptomatic or very large and compress the quadrigeminal plate, the thalami at the level of the pulvinar, extend supratentorially and cause hydrocephalus (see arachnoid cyst).
