Nodular pattern

numerous small rounded opacities (nodules) visible on plain radiographs or CT; in this pattern, the nodules are usually diffuse and approximately equal in size, but a regional predominance in size and number of nodules is common. This term should be considered as nonspecific, being modified with terms such as "miliary", "perilymphatic", "micro", etc. in appropriate circumstances. The Fleischner Society nomenclature committee has defined this pattern as consisting of nodules ranging from 2 to 10 mm in diameter, and thus being distinct from a miliary pattern, which consists of smaller nodules.
