Hiatal hernia

extension of the stomach into the chest through the oesophageal hiatus. On chest radiography, hiatus hernia typically presents as a rounded, retrocardiac mediastinal mass that often induces a focal rightward lateral displacement with convexity of the inferior aspect of the azygo-oesophageal interface. An airfluid level is often present. CT scans and barium swallow are diagnostic. Also, see hernia hiatal.
