Eosinophilic pneumonia

general term referring to a diverse group of diseases characterized by eosinophilic pulmonary infiltrates and often peripheral eosinophilia. These may have a known cause, such as hypersensitivity to fungus (e.g. allergic bronchopulmonary aspergillosis), parasites (e.g. tropical eosinophilia), or drugs, or may be idiopathic (see cryptogenic eosinophilic pneumonia and chronic eosinophilic pneumonia).
