Antimony pneumoconiosis

(also called antimoniosis), a rare pneumoconiosis which has been described in workers with a long-standing exposure to antimony dust or fumes (during mining and ore smelting). The radiological appearance of this pneumoconiosis is similar to that of siderosis, with numerous small, dense opacities in the middle and lower lung fields. Confluence of the shadows has not been reported, but the hilar regions may be denser than normal. In miners of antimony ore, exposure to quartz-containing dust may be significant.
