Angioimmunoblastic lymphadenopathy

an uncommon lymphoproliferative disorder occurring in patients over 50 years of age characterized by enlarged hypervascular lymph nodes, systemic symptoms, generalized lymphadenopathy, hepatosplenomegaly, hypergammaglobulinaemia and haemolytic anaemia. Hilar and mediastinal lymphadenopathy is the most common radiological manifestation (see lymphadenopathy mediastinal). Widespread pulmonary infiltration associated with reticulonodular pattern, nodules, Kerley lines and pleural effusion may also be present. Non Hodgkins lymphoma develops in approximately one third of cases.
