Dermoid cyst, testicular

differs histologically from epidermoid cysts (see epidermoid cyst testicular) in that it contains skin appendages. It is a rare tumour of the testis, though the rarity may be partially due to misclassification of these tumours as epidermoid cysts, or to classification of the tumours as benign monodermal mature teratomas. They present as painless testicular masses. No case of metastasis arising from a testicular tumour regarded as being a dermoid cyst has been well documented, and these cysts can be considered benign differentiated teratomas. To our knowledge, imaging features have not been specifically described. Based on the histological similarity, overlap with the imaging findings of epidermoid cysts appears likely.
