Gastrointestinal ImagingEhlers - danlos syndrome
(Edvard Ehlers, 1863 - 1937, Danish dermatologist and Henri Alexandre Danlos, 1844 - 1912, French dermatologist), uncommon condition characterized by defective collagen synthesis. Patients develop abnormal laxity of joints and skin. The gastrointestinal tract may be involved. Megaoesophagus, decreased small intestinal motility, giant jejunal diverticula with bacterial overgrowth, spontaneous perforation of the bowel, intestinal bleeding as well as megacolon have been described.
