Gastrointestinal ImagingChurg strauss syndrome
(Jacob Churg, born 1907, American pathologist and Lotte Strauss, born 1913, American pathologist) (also called allergic angitis and granulomatosis), syndrome characterized by granulomatous vasculitis of multiple organ systems, particularly the lung. It is similar in many respects to polyarteritis nodosa. Gastrointestinal symptoms, seen in 42% of patients, are abdominal pain, bloody stools or diarrhoea. The gastrointestinal involvement includes eosinophilic infiltration of the stomach resembling eosinophilic gastroenteritis and multiple ulcerations disseminated through the gastrointestinal tract.
