Behcet's syndrome, oesophageal

(Halushi Behcet, 18891948, Turkish dermatologist). Oesophagitis in Behcets syndrome tends to involve the upper half of the oesophagus but occasionally the whole oesophagus can be affected. Discrete superficial ulcers will be revealed in most instances but giant ulcers have also been observed.
