Turret exostosis

a bone excrescence typically occurring on the dorsal surface of a proximal or middle phalanx of a finger. Often a history of trauma is present. On radiographs soft tissue swelling and a broad-based bone protuberance may be noted. The lesion may represent an ossifying subperiosteal haematoma.
