Pseudomonas

an enteric Gram-negative bacillus causing infections in susceptible persons, especially patients with myeloproliferative disorders, elderly subjects with debilitating conditions, premature infants, children with congenital anomalies, and intravenous drug abusers. Frequently infection leads to septic arthritis or osteomyelitis (Fig.1). Pseudomonas osteomyelitis also occurs after puncture wounds.
