Progeria

a congenital disorder characterized by striking premature senility, with many children dying of coronary artery disease before the age of 10 years. Among the manifestations of this disease are dwarfism, brown pigmentation of the trunk, loss of subcutaneous fat, receding chin, and exophthalmos. On radiographs hypoplasia of facial bones and mandible, acro osteolysis of terminal phalanges and of the clavicle, delayed closure of cranial sutures and coxa valga may be evident (Fig.1).
