Post-traumatic progressive myelopathy

a syndrome characterized by delayed onset of progressive spasticity and dysfunction of motor and sensory nerves after injury to the spinal cord. Among the effects of this injury are atrophy, syringomyelia, myelomalacia, arachnoid cyst and tethering of the spinal cord by adhesions. Malaligment and retropulsion of fracture fragments may also occur.
