a solitary
plasma cell myeloma of bone. In comparison to multiple (plasma cell) myeloma, plasmacytoma is rare, affects younger patients, is commonly accompanied by neurologic manifestations, and can simulate giant cell
tumour on radiological examination. Most frequent sites of involvement are the
spine and
pelvis. On radiographs either a multicystic and expansile
lesion or a purely
osteolytic focus without expansion is noted (
Fig.1). Solitary plasmacytoma may appear as a radiodense vertebral body, the
ivory vertebral body.
Amyloid deposition may also occur.

AP radiograph of the pelvis demonstrates a multiloculated expansile osteolytic lesion involving the right ilium. Protrusio deformity of the right acetabulum is also present.
