Permeative bone destruction

one of several patterns of bone destruction recognizable on radiographs in patients with bone tumours or certain other conditions. This pattern reveals an aggressive bone lesion that is likely to grow rapidly. The characteristic feature is poor demarcation from surrounding normal bone. Among the conditions in which permeative bone destruction occurs are Ewings sarcoma, other sarcomas of bone, osteomyelitis, retinoblastoma and reflex sympathetic dystrophy.
