Osteopathia striata

or Voorhoeve's disease is a very rare disease that is usually without clinical manifestations. Radiographically, however, bilateral, linear bands of increased radiodensity are often observed to extend from the metaphyses of tubular bones for variable distances into the diaphyses, with interspersed areas of rarefaction (Fig.1). The ilium shows a fanlike arrangement of radiodense striations radiating toward the iliac crests.

Osteopathia striata frequently coexists with other disorders, such as osteopoikilosis, melorheostosis, osteopetrosis, cranial sclerosis and focal dermal hypoplasia (Goltzs syndrome).
