an unusual form of
malignant T cell
lymphoma with primary involvement of the skin. Bone marrow involvement is rare. Cortical destruction, periostitis and soft tissue swelling are typical. A helpful clue to diagnosis is involvement of the peripheral skeleton including the hands. The leukaemic phase of this disease,
Szarys disease, is characterized by generalized erythroderma, splenomegaly,
lymphadenopathy and leukocytosis.
