Musculoskeletal ImagingGaucher cells
(Phillippe Charles Ernest Gaucher, 1854 - 1918, French physician), reticulum cells that accumulate in various tissues in Gauchers disease. These cells proliferate in the liver and spleen, causing hepatosplenomegaly, and lead to lymphadenopathy. Their presence in the brain may produce degenerative changes in the pyramidal cells of the cerebral cortex. Infiltration of the bone marrow is associated with bone destruction, joint abnormalities and haematological manifestations.
