Bone modelling

one of the processes of bone growth by which bone microarchitecture becomes altered through the response of bone cells (osteoblasts and osteoclasts) to hormone stimulation. Bone modelling occurs prior to closure of physeal plates and is responsible for the characteristic morphology of individual bones. Bone turnover or remodelling occurs continuously throughout life.
