Alpsa lesion

an acronym referring to an "anterior labrum periosteal sleeve avulsion" injury. This anterior avulsion of the labroligamentous sleeve is associated with recurrent anterior glenohumeral joint dislocations. The dislocations result from incompetence of the anterior portion of the inferior glenohumeral ligament complex. The lesion is identified by MR imaging.
