Albright's syndrome

(Fuller Albright, 1900 - 1969, American physician), the combination of polyostotic fibrous dysplasia, caf-au-lait spots, and endocrine dysfunction (precocious puberty). This constellation of findings is also known as McCune-Albright syndrome. The dysplasia consists of a developmental anomaly of bone-forming mesenchyme leading to failure of the osteoblasts to develop and mature normally. Either solitary or multiple lesions may be seen in one or more bones.
