Vesical artery, superior

two to three arteries which arise from the anterior division of the internal iliac artery. Provide the major supply to the urinary bladder. Give origin to ureteric branches. The proximal portion of the superior vesical artery is the patent section of the fetal umbilical artery. See blood vessels, urinary bladder (II), Fig. 1
