Obturator vein

tributary of the internal iliac vein. It begins in the adductor region of the thigh and passes into the pelvis via the upper part of the obturator foramen. It passes between the ureter and internal iliac artery before draining into the internal iliac vein. It may be replaced by an enlarged pubic vein which joins the external iliac vein.
