Arteria profunda brachii
large branch arising from the posteromedial aspect of the
brachial artery
in the proximal upper arm distal to
teres major muscle
. Follows the
radial nerve
closely. Passes posterolaterally to supply the deep and posterior musculature of the upper arm. Also supplies the
nutrient artery
and the
deltoid artery
. Divides distally into the
radial collateral artery
and the
middle collateral branch of arteria profunda brachii
. Also known as the deep brachial
artery
