Physics, Techniques and ProceduresTelevision image chain
generally refers to the
video components used to convert the light output of the
image intensifier to an electronic video signal that can be displayed on a
television monitor or digitized for computerized processing and display. A variety of different types of
television camera tubes can be used, e.g.
vidicon camera,
plumbicon,
saticon. The selection of tube type is generally performed to obtain low lag (little residual image) and very low electronic noise. A
TV tube with high lag will show ghosting and blurring when the patient is moved or contrast is injected.
