Physics, Techniques and ProceduresSingle phase x-ray generator
an X ray generator using a single phase input line voltage, e.g. 220 volts. If full wave rectification is applied to the high-voltage output current from the transformer, such that both the positive and the negative pulse of the alternating current is used for X-ray production, the generator is called a single-phase two-pulse generator. The single phase generator gives relatively low output power and a pulsatory X-ray production. Today, the device is used primarily in old, small X-ray units at wards and at dentistry offices. It is more and more being replaced by the small and efficient medium frequency generator.
