Perfusion

a) Transit of blood through an organ or tissue b) Blood supply to an organ or  tissue. If blood vessels are diseased by e.g. atherosclerotic lesions, this affects the perfusion. Reduced cross sections of coronaryarteries may cause myocardial ischaemia with myocardial infarction. The aim of angioplasty is to improve or re-establish a normal blood perfusion.
