Medical imaging

Diagnostic medical imaging is a medical science that uses electromagnetic radiation, ultrasonography or radioactivity for evaluation of body tissues in order to diagnose injury and disease by means of radiological images.

The radiologist, a physician specialised in diagnostic imaging, will, in co-operation with the referring doctor, choose the most suitable procedure(s) tailored the diagnostic needs of the patient.
