Magnetic Resonance Spectroscopy
Separation of signals according to resonant frequency from tissues of interest. Frequency of signals from resonant nuclei varies with chemical (molecular) environment. Shielding (or deshielding) of the external magnetic field by the parent molecule causes a small change in Larmor frequency (this is chemical shift).
